Liebe, Miami Bch, FL:
Just for the heck of it I thought I'd check out
your website to see if there are any new photos today. What an
unexpected pleasure to find LOTS of photos and especially to see
Naomi's birthday party!
Thank you for throwing such a fitting party complete
with pinata! Honestly, I've never heard her so happy as she's
been down there. I am amazed at how organized you are and
especially at how well you communicate with the parents and
relate to the kids. You are a wonder!
Naomi is enjoying all of her art and jewelry-making
classes in a stress-free, fun-filled environment. The setting
is beautiful. The food is surprisingly good with a private
cook. The instructors, artists and artisans all, are inspiring
and pleasant. The kids are from all over the country and Naomi
says they are very nice. She likes the freedom to roam
beautiful San Miguel while heading to classes. We like the
structured activities that go well into the night!
Amy, Kensington, MD:
We have gotten two emails from Genna , and both of them are
full of tales about all of the fun she is having. I was also
happy to read that her eyes are being opened to the fact that
everyone doesn't live the way she does. That's important for
her and to us.
Cheryl , Aptos, CA:
I just wanted to take the time to thank you for the frequent
online photos ...what a stroke of genius! It is so nice to see
one's child... alive and well, and obviously relishing the
richness of new experiences, friends, and community. Kendra has
e-mailed us and seems very happy, enthusiastic, as well
as tired, which is just as it should be! She says she is loving
it all...classes, the children at the day care center, new
friends and experiences.
Cindie,
Playa del Rey, CA:
We received an e-mail from Stephanie saying she LOVES everything
and thanking us for this great opportunity!!! I in turn want to
thank you!!! Stephanie is so happy she came to your school
and told us she has learned so much! Her classes have been very
interesting and the instructors have encouraged her to another
level! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity!!!
Teresa, Aptos, CA
Thank you so much for everything! Tyler really had the
time of his life. He said these weeks were some of the best he
has ever had. That says a lot. I know he is going to want to
come back next year, so maybe we shall see you then!!
Merrily, Dellwood, MN:
Just a short note to say Courtney arrived back to
Minneapolis/ St. Paul as scheduled and is brimming with tales of
her adventures in San Miguel, MexArt and all her new friends and
experiences. Thank you to you and all your staff for the hard
work that makes the magic of MexArt.
I would like to commend you on such a well run and
outstanding program..truly, I'm so impressed and I'm so
glad that we discovered you and that Kendra convinced me to let
her go!
Ava, Yonkers, NY:
Thank you so much for one of the most amazing experiences of my
life. This program has been a dream come true for me.
Everything from the art classes to trying new foods to evening
activities to just sitting and talking (or singing) has been
wonderful. I really want to express my gratitude for a program
for artists which also includes the culture of Mexico.
Photography class was amazing, and I loved the hand coloring,
something I’d never done before. Ceramics was wonderful too, as
again I had a teacher with knowledge and passion about her
work. I was so happy to be able to begin to learn the basics of
guitar, my formal lessons supplemented by informal tidbits from
someone who was willing to let me cheat occasionally. Spanish
class was another gift. I learned so much from SPEAKING for two
hours a day, not focusing so much on my grammar, so that by the
last week I was able to help tourists with their conversations.
Our weekend trips were fun and different, and they
showed us that all of Mexico is not the same. Sunday night
movies were a wonderful addition to our weekends, giving us a
chance to relax, but also, in the case of Frida, to learn
about Mexican culture and history. Although I did not have as
much free time as I was expecting, I had much more
independence. I respect you for how much you trusted us. You
allowed us to walk around in town alone, take a public bus, stay
out until 10, occasionally eat meals without the rest of the
group, and talk with locals to improve our Spanish and our
experience.
I still cannot believe I have spent a month in Mexico. I have
made myself understood, tried new and interesting (and yummy!)
foods, felt extremely happy doing art in a way other than I’m
used to, gained a measure of independence, and been conditioned
to receive a dose of culture shock when I get home. This has
been a life changing experience and I want to thank you for
having the idea of an art camp in San Miguel de Allende, making
it happen, and creating such a personal connection with me. I
feel truly lucky and special to have been able to participate in
this one-of-a-kind summer.
Nancy: Blue Hill, ME:
I want to thank you for the great experience Simone had at
MexArt! She arrived home last night and even though she and
Katie were very tired they couldn't stop talking about what
a fabulous time they had. Simone really loved her art
classes and felt she learned so much, especially in her
drawing class. She showed us all her work last night and was
so proud. We were thrilled.

Irene, New York, NY:
Kristin had a wonderful time at camp. We thought San Miguel
was fantastic and Kristin is clearly camp-sick.
Debbie, Westfield, NJ:
I just spoke to my daughter, Ali who is loving her
classes! She has taken many art classes over the years and will be applying in
the fall as an art student at a liberal arts university. Ali absolutely raves
about the program. She loves the level of art offered to her and appreciates all
of the extra programming (i.e. the talk with the author, trips). These few weeks
have made a tremendous influence on her.
Jackie, L.A., CA:
Perri has been e-mailing every day and is having the best time. She has loved
her ceramics class, photo class and so enjoyed working with the kids at the
daycare yesterday. I am so happy for her. Thank you for giving her a special
experience and she also made some wonderful friends.
Meryl, Accord, NY:
Anna says she wants a Spanish and French tutor when
she comes home so she can be "fluent." She wants to learn salsa dancing. Most
exciting is that she has rediscovered her love for art and is frequently
mentioning her paintings and jewelery. I hope she can sustain that energy when
she comes home. You have helped her accomplish what I had hoped for her this
summer-Thanks for that!!
Robyn, Deerfield, IL:
Jorie's e-mails have been wonderful! She is having
the time of her life. She raves about the facility, the activities, her new
friends and San Miguel! Is it really as fantastic as she reports!? |
